Taber is a 1998 graduate of New York Chiropractic College in Seneca Falls, NY, where he was awarded the BJ Palmer Memorial Award for an article he authored on Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy. He also holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the State University of New York at Fredonia. He is a former Certified Personal Trainer with the National Strength & Conditioning Association and the American Institute of Fitness Educators.
